About our Parish

The Parish covers about half of Penarth, plus Cogan, Penarth Marina and Llandough and has three churches - St Augustine’s, Holy Nativity and St Dochdwy’s.

We are situated just to the south of Cardiff in the Vale of Glamorgan.  It’s mainly a suburban area with good links to Cardiff and has a large hospital (Llandough, part of UHW) within the parish boundaries. The Parish is in the Diocese of Llandaff in the Church in Wales.  Our Diocesan Bishop is the Right Reverend June Osbourne.

All three churches are prominent landmarks in the community.  St. Augustine’s is an imposing figure on the Penarth headland and can be seen for miles around. Holy Nativity is the first welcoming sight as you enter Penarth under the railway bridge, with its belfry housing two bells. St. Dochdwy’s is situated on the top of Llandough hill and its distinctive tower can be seen nestled in the woodland from as far afield as Caerphilly Mountain.

Thank you for visiting our Parish website.  We hope it highlights some of the important aspects of our church life. You will be made very welcome if you would like to join us at any of our services and activities.

Sunday School

Sunday School is held at St Dochdwy’s during the morning service. All children under 10 welcome to join in with the simple, fun activities with a Bible theme, but please bring an adult with you.
